Mayor Dennison
K. W. Dennison is serving in his first term as Mayor of
the City of Newbern. Mayor Dennison took office in November
of 2004.
Mayor Dennison is the son of the late
Earl Dennison "World Champion Duckcaller" and
Lola Dennison. Born and raised in Newbern, Mayor Dennison
graduated from Newbern High School and served eight years
in the TN National Guard at Newbern. He has been married
to Cheryl Hampton Dennison for forty years and they have
two children; Tracy and Trent. He has been an active Deacon
for nearly thirty years and a church member for nearly sixty.
Mayor Dennison worked for thirty years for Memphis Lights,
Gas, & Water in the Electric Department and worked his
way from lineman helper to a supervisor position. Mayor
Dennison also spent over eight years as the Public Works
Director for the City of Newbern.
